Teen Advisory Board Meeting: September, 2014

Pitkin County Library’s Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a group of committed young people in grades 9-12 interested in making a difference in their community.  TAB meets the first Wednesday of every month; members receive community service credit for their time.  TAB members are considered advocates for the library and are subject to a code of conduct.  For more information or for an application, contact Genevieve at 970-429-1948.

Pitkin Pals reading program pairs an elementary school child with a teen mentor, and the two read together once a week after school, for 45 minutes. In September, Pals meetings will be Tuesdays (September 9, 16, 23 and 30) from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. in the children's library. It's a Paranormal Panic as Literature Out Loud presents "Sci-fi!" on Sunday, September 21st at 3pm (our Normal time) in the Pitkin County Library meeting room.  Logan Carter, extraordinary theatre teacher, and Graham Northrup, of Theatre Aspen fame, will transport you with stories by Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury and Mark Halliday.  Alien outfits are encouraged but not mandatory.  The free and eerie story time for grownups.
