The Pitkin County Library started a book club in August 2007 for Middle School readers and their favorite adult. We call it The Book Thieves and we meet once a month. During that time, we talk about that month's book, discuss our choices for the next book we would like to read, figure out the next meeting time, and eat, drink soda (we call it pop in Michigan), and munch on snacks. You receive a free copy of the book to read that is yours to keep forever, thanks to the generosity of the the Margulf Foundation. So far we have read A Small White Scar, The Book Thief, Chasing Vermeer, Black Duck, The Singer of All Songs and Captives and The Absolute Diary of a Part-Time Indian. We are currently reading City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau- the discussion will take place on October 1st at 4:30 pm. The books are now avialable. If you are interested in joining this group please feel free to contact Lisa at 429-1900 or lisa.osur@co.pitkin.co.us. (update 8/29/08)
